Compass

This collection is about evoking the atmosphere, mood, and colours of farflung places. In four ‘triptychs’, we visit the Western Isles of Scotland; we move to the dance rhythms of Cuba, Brazil and Argentina; freeze in the winter darkness of Finland and Russia; and savour the piquancy of the far East in a series of flower-themed pieces. Most of the pieces are based on the traditional folk music of the locations.
