Lebuïnus ex Daventria

This soundtrack-like composition tells the story of the Anglo-Saxon monk Lebuïnus, who built a church in Deventer in the Netherlands around 768 as part of the missionary work of the pagan Saxons. Consecutive, contrasting themes describe the Ijssel valley, the Saxons and Lebuïnus, church construction and destruction in the fight against the Saxons. The Ijssel Valley theme in minor is played once again before all themes come together in the dazzling finale.
