Soaring the Sky

Soaring the Sky is a short work in a typical light style with light music influences. It conveys a sense of freedom: the sensation of floating in total harmony with your surroundings. Soaring literally means flying without propulsion; in addition, it means soaring to unprecedented heights.

This work is best performed in a special arrangement, with the trumpets and flugelhorns facing each other, the trombones standing behind the basses. For the best effect, a drum kit can be placed in the middle of the band. In this way, the anti-phonal character comes out best.
